How Do blow-dry really curly hair straight?

I have really curly, frizzy and wavy hair! Do you have any tips on how do blow-dry it straight without it looking like you were hit by lightning?..lol

Here are the steps that work for me!

1. Wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner that will deeply moisturize your hair.

2. Towel dry your hair, but do not vigorously rub, and next put in a heat protection spray to stop your hair from getting damaged, when using heating tools.

3. I would next recommend to put in a mouse to help with straightening your hair, I have heard that "Herbal Essences, Dangerously Straight", works well but I am yet to try it. Make sure you work the product through the hair with a wide-toothed comb.

4. Then take a paddle brush and a blowdrier with a directional nozzle as this will concentrate the air flow and cut down the frizz. Blowdry your hair using these tools.

5. Once your hair is dry go over the hair using a good ceramic straightener.

6. Finish by spraying your hair with a Strong Hold Hairspray.

Hope this helps!

lol im the same exact way. try doing a conditioning treatment to your hair and let it set under a heating cap for 30 mins or so. rinse and your are will be soft and smooth when you wash it out. then blow dry normally and there ya go! good luck!

gel or something similar (mousse), round brush (did u ever see those big round brushes that look like the bed of them is metal?), tip for position of blow dryer....... you want the air to blow almost straight down which means you have to tilt it at a sharp angle but that way it won't blow your hair up or around... it kind of creates a smoothing effect or at least that's how i do it and i have lots of native american blood so i have really coarse, frizzy wavy hair

I have the same hair! I put in serum when it's wet, then I blow dry my hair on a hot heat, pointing the hairdryer in a downwards direction. This will make the hair smoother .. I also continuously brush my hair with a vent brush, which I think is better as it doesn't block the hot air from getting to the hair and so it blow-dries quicker.

Turn your hair upside down and brush downwards as you blow. Follow the brush with your hairdryer nozzle, as you brush downwards (not too close though).. then brush from side to side till the hair dries. Once it dries I would keep going for a bit longer till it gets past the "dry-frizzy" stage and starts to look smooth and shiny. Point the nozzle all the way to the ends of your hair - it gets rid of all the kinks to the end. When you finish run a little more serum over your hair to fix it.

Hope that made sense!

Personally, I find I get a better result when I do this directly from wet hair, rather than damp, to catch it before the frizz sets in.
