Looking for Girls with NATURALLY curly hair???!?!?

I have had it with my curls! I see all these girls walking around and their curly hair looks so perfect...no frizz and full of body! Don't get me wrong, at times I do love my curls but I am tired of using all these products. I want to be able to put something that takes the frizz away and have it natural without gel or moose. I dunno if this is even possible. I don't use a difusser and am wondering if maybe this is my problem. Do difussers work and if so which one is the best? Also, any suggestions on a anit-frizz serum that acutally works? If any ladies have any secrets or special techniques you use to get your curls the way you like them, please share.

P.S. I love Kerri Russels curls, you know the chick from Felicity. My curls are like hers but much more frizzy.

paul mitchell tea tree conditioner helps condition and controll the curls. don't blow dry, place some oil on the hair while still wet. it works miracles!

good luck

Try not to blowdry your hair, if possible, and if not, spray it with a bit of water after blowdrying. Keep your hands out of your hair after its dry, and when wet, run a dab of gel through your hands and into your hair if you want to be sure. It sounds silly, but if you want to purchase a drugstore curling iron it might also help to reform curls.

I don't know how to make those, but I am fairly sure that they are made with proffesional tools. LIke if her hair is curly they straighten it first. But anyways, my friend has reeeeeally frizzy and curly hair and she LOVES this shampoo she found that she says defrizzes her hair. Its called Herbal Essences Lavender Twist for Curly hair or something. Its found at Walmart, and she says she loves it!!!! its fairly cheap and there is shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, and all kinds of other products.

I have really thick curly hair too so I hear you. I straighten mine most of the time. I don't like defussers because they don't work for me. I use a a frizz serum and a pick... then I let my hair air dry. Don't brush your hair it just make the frizz worse. Also don't towel dry your hair blot it gently on a towel and leave it alone. Curly hair is super tricky... good luck!

i have frizzy frizz, too.

i'm considering having my hair relaxed again, but it just doesn't last.

i don't blow dry my hair if i can help it. that helps with the frizz.

i use lots of product - people tell me it's almost too much, but with curly hair, i don't think too much product is possible.

lately i've been switching shampoo/conditioner/leave-ins quite a bit. i'm loving the aussie brand products. i use their full line. also pantene makes a line for curly hair and it's wonderful - but i find it stops working well if i use it continually for more than 2 or 3 months. and don't wash your hair every day, if you can. that's what my hairdresser tells me, but i have a hard time with it.

so my routine:

1x/month i'll use hot oil on my hair

5-6x/week i shampoo and liberally apply conditioner. then i either leave in more conditioner or use an actual leave-in conditioner

towel dry my hair

then i put in mousse and/or gel and leave it be. after awhile, i'll pin it up or ponytail it, but usually it keeps its nice shape

g'luck and talk to your hairdresser. and get rid of any hair that is really dry. a good trim can do wonders

i used to hate my curls, until i found out how to manage them. when your hair is wet, scrunch it to give you body, then (i know you said you don't like mousse, but this is still a very natural effect) Use a small amount of pantene pro-v curl defining scrunching mousse (the red bottle, i get it at target), and as your hair dries, keep applying nickel sized amounts of tresemme anti frizz secret (i get that at target too). once your hair starts to frizz, apply a little more. just take it to school with you and use a little at break and lunch.

I hope this helps you out :)

I have hair just like yours!!! I start by using good shampoos, ones that are really moisturizing. (Herbal Essences Hello hydration) Then, keep your conditioner in for a couple of miutes before washing out. (Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine) Rinse your hair with COLD water after you wash the conditioner out really well. I personally never use hair dryers because it makes my hair puffy and not very curly, just messy. I put a little bit of light curling gel in it- and not one of those rock-solid gels. (Garnier brilliante shine cream gel and Frizz Ease Dream Curl) then I spray a bunch of really light hairspray in it to make the curls kinda stick together. (Herbal Essences body envy- smells AMAZING)Then I let it air dry. Also, I have definetly found that when your hair is healthy (no dryers or straightners or color) it curls MUCH better.

Well, Good Luck, I hoped it helped!!

I have naturally curly hair and noticed that by switching shampoos my hair was less frizzy(believe it or not!) I was using Herbal Essences and switched to Sunksilk Hydra TLC shampoo and conditoner(the pink bottle by the way which is for dry hair). I use gel for my curls it works better than mousse for me. The gel I use is Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel then I spray with a little hairspray(Herbal Essences Set Me Up hairspray) then I spray lightly Citre Shine Shine Mist so it leaves it shiny. I always get compliments on my curls now that I have been using these products. And trust me girl I was having a hard time with frizz and this has worked for me. You just have to experiment and after many experimentations this is wonders for my curls. This may sound like alot but trust me its well worth to have those nice curls. Good luck!

1st step: Put the diffuser down, %26amp; back away slowly...better yet, chuck it out the window.

Blow dryers are a nightmare for curly hair. They make it frizzy %26amp; puffy %26amp; AGHH. If you MUST blow dry, put it on cool setting, %26amp; use Thermasilk Heat Activated Conditioner in the shower (don't rinse it off all the way, leave a bit in your hair). %26amp; don't COMPLETELY dry it, leave it a bit damp %26amp; put serum or a few of the products I mention later.

2. If you have time, put a leave in conditioner %26amp; wrap your hair in a towel for as long as possible. Then let it air dry. I love Henna 'n' Placenta, it decreases puff, frizz, %26amp; makes the hair smooth. Wrapping my hair in a towel for a few hours w/ this product in it made it less curly too.

3. Usually I use a heat iron after my hair's dry. But if you go au naturale then use Hask Placenta No-rinse instant hair repair treatment ONLY when needed.

Frizz Ease Hair Serum for coarse/extremely frizzy hair is also a great product, but it's expensive for the amt you get, %26amp; you have to put a lot if you have tons of hair.

I have had crazy curly hair all my life and this is my solution.

I use John Sahag's Dry Oil - It's amazing for frizz. Put on wet hair, then you can put it on dry hair too if you need to tame it more.

Curly hair tends to be drier than straight hair. Make sure to condition, condition, condition. A hair mask once a month will help with moisture. Also, let your hair air dry. A blow dryer will dry it out more and create more breakage and frizz. And DON'T wash your hair EVERY day. That tends to dry it out as well. I often find my hair looks best when it's been 3 days since I washed it.

My routine -

1 - wash hair

2 - condition hair

3 - towel dry

4 - rub a quarter size of Dry oil in hands, turn head upside down and run hands through hair (scrunching ends a bit)

5 - (optional) add a little bit of a light gel and do same as step 4

6 - let hair air dry

If you feel up to it - you can sometimes twirl some pieces around your face into little curls (when the hair is still wet) and fasten them with bobby pins until dry. This will give you that "perfect" curl look.

Just experiment. You'll find it! Good luck!

I have super naturally curly hair... I mean, it takes me nearly two hours to straighten it when I choose to. As for my daily curly routeine? I use the Herbal Essence shampoo that was mentioned above... But that is all I use, because if I use conditioner it makes my curls flat. I put it on once, rinse out... Then a second time and leave on through my shower--around 5-10 minutes--and then rinse out. After I get out I brush it immediately, towel dry, brush again, and then put it in a towel while I do my makeup... When complete with that, I use LA Looks (very cheap, lol) dark blue sport gel. It holds very well, but doesnt give it the stiff look. In addition, I use Tresame (spelling) curl enhancing mousse which is a miracle worker! I scrunch a bit and hold my head upside down to blow dry. Believe me, when I turn it over it is frizzed outrageous... But, I take a comb and part it on the side, to eliminate the frizziest side, and then I use Freeze It hairspray to hold it in place, which eliminates frizz like crazy! If my hair is still flat, I take bobby pins and pin locks to the side, to make it look like I have more volume, and since my hair is curly, no one ever sees the bobby pins!

A layered look also helps with the volume. My hair is fairly long, almost down to my mid back, and my first layer starts in the back just above my ears.

well i use infusium 23 fizz shampoo%26amp;conditioner.....i have heard that the john frieda frizzease is supposed to be good, the anti frizz serum and "dream curls"

well i got d same problem I LOVE MY CURLS but sometimes it can be a real bother to comb it wen u now wash it well u cud always use a steam iron hair presser so u can jus wash it out wen u want ur curls back or u can relax it but i don't think its healthy or u cud ask ur hair dresser to TEXTURIZE it (leaves it with a bounce yet straight)

Dove Shampoo and conditioner work great to moisturize and soften curly hair.

Try the following:

1) Comb your hair with a wide tooth comb while still in the shower and part it as you plan to when you style your hair.

2) Do not towel dry your hair. Gently wrap the towel around only the ends of your hair and squeeze just enough to make it not drip.

3) Apply Dove (does not make hair so stiff like others) mousse to hair.

4) Gently scrunch or twist the strands to get them in the shape that you like.

5) Allow to airdry or blow dry with a diffuser.

The key is to style curly hair while it is VERY wet and the more you touch it the more it will FRIZZ, so touch it as little as possible.

If you do this you should not need a frizz serum, if you still fell like you do need one, Kpak makes a good one that smells great.

yeah i have reeeeeeally crazy curly italian hair, and i only use one product to fix it...there's this serum called moisture manager by sabino, and it totally takes out all of the frizz...it is seriously all you have to do with your hair...no diffusers or anything...it can also double as a skin moisturizer...the problem is you can only get it from salons and it is kind of expensive...however if you set up an account on sabino's website pretending to be a salon you can get it that way...also my grandmom told me this stuff called laminate by sebastion works really well...im considering trying it myself soon as it is a little more financially friendly...anyway good luck with your curls! i swear by this product! i used to straighten my hair every single day and now i love my natural curls

I have curly hair 2. Make sure you buy a shampoo and a conditioner that are for curly hair... you can also get ones that defrixx your hair. Difussers work really well but make sure you get a semi-expensive one so that it doesnt break after one use. Also if you have some extra time on your hands get out yuor curling iron. Your hair will take the curl and the curl will stay becaue you hair is naturally curly.
