I need help finding a salon in Detroit Michigan area specializing in natural curly hair?

i have long natural curly hair. i want to find a salon in my area.(detroit,michigan)that specializes in cutting and coloring my long curly hair. I've had it long for so long and im getting tired of it. but i wont cut it until i find the perfect person that understands curly hair. so if any one can give any tips or pictures of cute dos i would appreciate it. but would really like to find a salon that does curly hair

I would call a beauty school to see if there are hairdressers that only deal with curly hair. I've never heard of any, but it could be possible.

try calling salons start close by and ask them..... most salons will be honest with you, stylists are there to make you happy so you go back to see them, and salons have books that you could look through to find a style (a lot of those books come with step by step instructions for that cut or style or dvd's to watch, and a lot of salons require stylists to actually watch (or read) them). I would reccomend a salon you could get an appointment with rather than a walk in salon, and schedule a consultation most will do free consults. during that time you can ask them questions and see if thier answers make you happy..... if not try another salon. good luck
